What you can’t see on the news are the smells of mildew and filth, you can’t feel the defeat, devastation and loss. The waste of life, material, energy, and time is raw.
Jodi McNiven (of 100+Women Who Care) and I are being asked by our out-of-state friends and families how they can help. It became a hunt for the groups with the lowest administration fees and the biggest reach. We realized we’re right here! We can funnel this money to where it’s needed most. At the heart of these efforts is the desire to help families who were uninsured.
To all our friends and family not here, but who would like to and are able to help, we are collecting funds to be distributed to families in need through grocery cards and construction cards from places like Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware. We have local animal shelters that are in need if you’d like your money to go there. You can add to the comments what needs you would like your donation to fulfill.
We will also be delivering food and water to those working tirelessly to restore their lives. Sorry, these donations are not tax deductible. Please see our tally sheet to see our progress. Feel free to email with questions.
